What is a Pallet Cover

Pallet covers are an innovative product, designed to keep products clean and safe by sealing the top of a pallet, the pallet itself or even a crate. They come in 2 options; breathable and waterproof. Pallet covers have varying uses, although, both are designed to keep products free from airborne contamination, dust and or moisture. In situations where food is waiting to be transported to a different location or for further processing; food protection is always, a priority.

While food is cooling down, waiting for the next process ie: packaged, it is exposed to a variety of different airborne contaminations. In this stage, while the product is still hot, trapping the products under a waterproof cover, could cause it to ‘sweat’, releasing moisture up, and dripping down in condensation. The ideal solution is the breathable pallet cover, to keep the product safe and undamaged temporarily while it cools or waits for the next process.

Breathable pallet covers feature hairnet-like material, allowing moisture to pass through, but prevents anything entering the food, such as dust. They are lightweight with a strong elastic, this combination keeps the pallet or crate firmly covered and protected. The breathable option comes in blue and white.

Only available in blue, waterproof covers provide a higher level of protection. Being waterproof there is very minimal chance of contamination passing through to the product. In an environment where there may be moisture or spray, and the product is not warm, the waterproof option is most suitable. Pallet covers can also protect bulk ingredients. For instance, something like sugar can be damaged if it is in contact with water or moisture.

Both the breathable and waterproof options are temporary protection for food products, they can be used either over the product, or over the pallet, a further protectory option.

Pallet covers are designed to protect products and ingredients while they are in use or waiting to cool prior to packaging. Important to ensuring maximum food safety.

The difference between the two products is one prevents moisture passing in or out of the product, while the other is designed to prevent dust and other contamination entering, while ensuring moisture will not get trapped inside.
